Jana Briggs has over 15 years of teaching, coaching, program design, strategic planning, and professional learning success. Her mission is to improve educational equity and advocacy by supporting organizations in their work of extending access to experiences and services that honor and lift up the identities and lived experiences of all - specifically those who have been historically marginalized.
To this end, she centers her work on building capacity within schools and community organizations, focusing on leveraging organizations' strengths to plan strategically and develop goal- and mission-driven teams that work efficiently and equitably. All of these efforts aim to ensure that one’s dimensions of diversity do not predict their life outcomes.
Jana was born and raised in the West End of Atlanta, Georgia, and knows first-hand the experiences of inner-city schooling as she is a product of Atlanta Public Schools. As a first-generation college student and a proud graduate of Fort Valley State University, she is no stranger to hard work and beating the odds herself.
Jana aims to use her own lived experiences to create spaces where people feel free to show up as their most authentic selves and know that the value they add to any space is more than enough to be leveraged for the good of the collective.
